What factors influence the price of a necklace?

• The material affects the price of the necklace. Gold is significantly more valuable than silver. Similarly, a plated chain is more valuable than one without surface treatment.
• The weight (mass in grams) affects the price of the necklace. A shorter chain is lighter and therefore more affordable than a corresponding longer chain. A thinner chain is lighter and therefore more affordable than a thicker equivalent. The chain's design also affects its weight. e.g. A 1 mm Venetian chain has more grams than a comparable curb chain.
